Roughage (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a fiber-tracking app operated by Innovative Ops LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We built Roughage to track one thing well, and we collect as little as possible to do it.
Food and fiber data you enter. When you log a food, we store the food name, its fiber amount, an optional plant type, and the date, along with your daily fiber goal, weekly plant goal, and language preference. This is kept under an anonymous account identifier created automatically on first launch. It is not connected to your name, email, or any real-world identity.
Photos you choose to scan. If you use the photo feature to estimate fiber, the image you select is sent to our server and passed to a third-party AI service (Anthropic) to read the fiber content. The image is used only to produce that estimate and is not stored by us after processing. We keep only the resulting numbers.
Data stored only on your device. Your daily gut check-ins (bloating, energy, regularity) and your reminder settings are stored locally on your phone and are not sent to our servers.
We do not collect your name, email, contacts, precise or approximate location, advertising identifiers, browsing history, or biometric data. We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs that track you.
Solely to make the app work: to show your daily fiber ring, your plant collection, your history and streaks, and to sync your logs to your anonymous account so they are there when you reopen the app.
We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not share it except as needed for these providers to perform their function.
We keep your logs until you delete them. You can delete all of your data at any time from the app’s Settings screen using “Delete my data,” which removes it immediately, or by emailing us at the address below.
Roughage is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls so that your records are only accessible to your own anonymous account.
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at this URL.
